OTDCapstoneIdeas |
The purpose of this form is to solicit ideas for the Occupational Therapy Doctoral Capstone Project and Experience at the University of Missouri. Per ACOTE standard D.1.0:
"The goal of the doctoral capstone is to provide an in-depth exposure to one or more of the following: clinical practice skills, research skills, administration, leadership, program and policy development, advocacy, education, and theory development. The doctoral capstone consists of two parts:
The student will complete an individual capstone project to demonstrate synthesis and application of knowledge gained. The student will complete an individual 14-week capstone experience that must be started after completion of all coursework and Level II fieldwork, and completion of preparatory activities..." |
Per ACOTE standard D.1.5, the experience must be a minimum of 14 weeks (560 hours), with at least 80% of that time spent on-site at the mentored practice setting.
Per ACOTE standard D.1.6, the student should be mentored by an individual with expertise consistent with the student's area of focus. The mentor does not have to be an occupational therapist.
Please provide as much information as you can. This does not need to be a fully-formed plan; just an idea is sufficient.
If you have any questions, please contact Gina Pifer (pifergl@health.missouri.edu) or Bill Janes (janesw@health.missouri.edu).
Thank You.
