Thank You for Your Interest in the ECHO Autism: Behavior Solutions in Hospitals Program.

We are thrilled to partner with you and other professionals to improve and expand care for autistic individuals.

Autistic people often have higher rates of emergency room visits and may require hospitalization for medical co-occurring conditions. Meeting their unique needs in these environments can be complex. It is crucial that Emergency Departments and Hospital Medical Teams are equipped with the knowledge and training necessary to support patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) effectively.

Everyone involved in the care of autistic patients-from doctors and nurses to security staff and related service providers-plays a vital role in both crisis prevention and de-escalation. This program is designed to help teams identify gaps in their systems of care and develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective support for these patients and their families.

The ECHO Autism program is specifically tailored for professionals working in emergency departments or as part of inpatient hospital medical or mental health team. Recommended participants include:

  • Registered Nurses (RN) and RN Managers
